Where is Jackknife Cove Beach?

Our private boat charter leaves from Jackknife Cove Beach, on Pleasant Bay is on Route 28, in Chatham. Parking is down the hill or along Route 28. Meet Captain James and the boat along the shore. The boat is beige and named, Sunshine Daydream.

Is the boat operated by a licensed captain?

Yes. Captain James Schwartz is a US Coast Guard certified OUPV. Ref Number 8675684.

Does the boat comply with USCG regulations?

Yes, we comply with all USCG regulations for an OUPV boat cruise carrying up to six passengers. This includes all safety equipment and life preservers.

Are there physical requirements or limitations for entering the boat?

Entry into the boat is from shore (not a dock) in knee deep water, up a two step ladder. Unfortunately, there is no accommodation for those unable to enter in this manner. The beach and sea bottom has rocks and shells, so water shoes or sandals is advised.

Is there a restroom/head on the boat?

No.

Does the boat have sun protection?

Yes, the boat has a sun protection bimini, which provide shade in the stern for 3-4 passengers. With up to 6 passengers on a trip, some may have to sit in the bow, where there is no shade. Sunscreen is recommended.

Will I get wet in the boat?

Wind chop on the water and wakes from other boats can sometimes cause water splashing on to passengers.

Are you insured?

Yes. Our liability insurance covers incidents while passengers are on the boat. Since several activities involve leaving the boat, all passengers are required to sign an additional liability waiver.

What are the policies for cancellation and trips cut short by bad weather?
