Frequently Asked Questions

Where do Leave From?

We launch from a private shore on Mayflower Point in South Orleans. Easy parking at a private residence and from there a five minute walk along a dirt road to the boat. Captain James will meet you at the shore.

What is the captain's certification?

Captain James Schwartz is a US Coast Guard certified OUPV. Ref Number 8675684.

Does the boat comply with USCG regulations?

Yes, we comply with all USCG regulations for an OUPV boat cruise carrying up to six passengers. This includes all safety equipment and life preservers.

Are there physical requirements or limitations for entering the boat?

Entry into the boat is from shore. Unfortunately, there is no accommodation for those unable to enter in this manner.

Is there a restroom/head?

There are no restrooms at the parking location or on the boat. For those coming from the south, the Speedway gas/convenience store on Rt. 28 in South Orleans has restrooms. For those coming from other directions, there are public restrooms at 44 Main Street in Orleans.

Does the boat have sun protection?

Yes, the boat has a canopy that shades the stern for 3-4 passengers. If your party has more, some will sit in the bow, where there is no shade.  Sunscreen and brimmed hats are recommended.

Will I get wet in the boat?

Generally no, but wind chop on the water and wakes from other boats can sometimes cause water splashing on to passengers.

Are you insured?

Yes. Charter boat liability insurance covers incidents while passengers are on the boat. Passengers planning on leaving the boat during the outing (e.g., swimming) must sign a waiver for themselves and minor children for whom they are responsible.

What are the policies for cancellation and trips cut short by bad weather?

See Terms and Conditions.

Must I sign a waiver?

For any activity off the boat, passengers must sign a liability waiver for themselves and any minors for whom they are responsible. Otherwise, no.
